Procter & Gamble Home Products, which retails Pantene shampoo and haircare products in India among other brands, saw sales in the 2019 financial year reach Rs 6,001 crore ($902 million) and profits total Rs 616.4 crore, according to data sourced from Veratech, reported by ET Bureau.

“We registered strong topline and bottomline growth in FY18-19 behind our strategy to deliver superior products, packaging, brand communication, retail execution and value; drive productivity and cost savings; and strengthen our organisation and culture,” said a P&G spokesperson in a statement, reported by ET Bureau. “We will continue to remain focused on these strategies.”

The business’ move to launch new products has contributed to its increased sales and it is still following this strategy in the 2020 financial year. The business launched a new range of haircare products for its brand Pantene, the “Advanced Hairfall Solution Range”, in late summer and has promoted the range heavily on social media.

Along with Procter & Gamble Home Products, the international fast moving consumer goods brand P&G has two listed Indian subsidiaries- Procter & Gamble Health & Hygiene and Gillette India. The combined sales of all three entities increased by 16% year-on-year to reach Rs 10,875 crore in the 2019 financial year.
