Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Q3 posts net profit of Rs 91 crore

Fast-moving consumer goods major Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd (PGHHCL) reported a one percent rise in its net profit to Rs 91 crore ($12 million) for the quarter ended March 31, 2020, as against Rs 90 crore it posted in the year-ago period.

The company’s revenue for the quarter also grew six percent to Rs 656 crore, as against Rs 699 crore it had reported in the corresponding quarter last year.
 
P&G said that its business operations were severely disrupted across the country due to the nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of Covid-19.

Commenting on the results, Madhusudan Gopalan, managing director PGHHCL in a statement said: “In the near term, we will focus on scaling up our operations to maximise the availability of our products to meet consumer needs, while following health and safety guidelines by the government authorities.”
 
“With the strength of our product portfolio, we are well-positioned to serve the needs of our consumers by offering superior propositions and value across different price segments,” Gopalan added.
 
The company, which follows the July-June financial year saw its total expenses fall by 4 percent to Rs 546 crore as against Rs 569 crore it reported last year.
