Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Q2 profit up 10 percent

FMCG firm, Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd, witnessed a 10 percent rise in net profit to Rs 136 crore ($19.1 million) for the second quarter ended December 2019, as against Rs 124 crore it had reported in the year-ago period.

The company, which follows the July-June financial year, saw its revenue grow 5 percent during the quarter to Rs 859 crore, as compared with Rs 818 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
 
The company’s total expenses during the October-December quarter grew 7 percent to Rs 686 crore, as against Rs 640 crore last year.

Commenting on the second-quarter results, Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care, managing director, Madhusudan Gopalan, in a statement said: "In a challenging macroeconomic environment, our focus on raising the bar on superiority, improving productivity, and strengthening the organisation culture has enabled us to deliver sustained growth during the second quarter."
 
On the outlook, Gopalan added: "We will continue to remain focused on these strategies in line with our aim to drive balanced sales and profit growth."
