On March 14, day two of LMIFW, Prashant Verma had models sing and dance their way down the runway wearing his floating layers and diaphanous gowns. A mixed dance troupe performed a modern number and Verma’s designs floated around poetically.

For the evening wear section, models of all ages were swathed in tulle and wore classic style gowns paired with white gloves and diamond jewellery. They were presented with Oscar statues by men in tuxedos and one young boy joined in wearing a suit with shorts. One woman in a pink gown danced with a man wearing a vintage military outfit and the whole show appeared to be heavily influenced by Verma’s other career as an actor.

Prashant Verma launched his eponymous label in 2006 after having graduated from NIFT Delhi and worked internationally with brands including Philip Treacy and Alexander McQueen. The brand is based in New Delhi and has shown at multiple Indian fashion weeks.

LMIFW ran from March 13 to 16 at the Jawaharlal Stadium in New Delhi and was organised by the Fashion Design Council of India. The event runs bi-annually and was followed by the Designer Showroom sale from March 17 to 18.
