Pooja Acharya appointed as Chief Beauty Officer for Purplle

The multi-brand e-commerce beauty site Purplle has appointed Pooja Acharya as Chief Beauty Officer, a role that will see her introduce Purplle into the brick and mortar retail format and introduce more international brands.

“Pooja’s appointment is in line with our intent to deepen management bandwidth," said Manish Taneja, the CEO and Co-Founder of Purplle. "At Purplle, Pooja’s extensive global experience in managing beauty brands in offline retail channels will guide us through our next phase of growth as we target consistent profitable growth and tapping markets beyond the top urban cities.”
Pooja Acharya herself commented on her new role and said: “I am thrilled to join India’s largest online beauty portal. Purplle leverages technology effectively to study consumer behaviour patterns. Their chatbot has been a revolutionary initiative in the Indian market, personalising recommendations to customers based on their needs.”
Acharya is joining Purplle from Shiseido where she was the Education and Training Manager for flagship stores. Hailing from Mumbai, Acharya has experience working for a number of global beauty brands including Cristian Dior, Nars, and Chanel.
Purplle was founded in September 2011 and specialises in cosmetics, fragrances, and wellness products. The multi-brand e-commerce site carries a range of international brands including Maybelline, Nivea, Anna Sui, Christian Dior, and Clinique.
