Designer Pooja Shroff will present a collection of embroidered Indonesian Batik textiles at the upcoming autumn/ winter edition of Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week.

For her upcoming collection, Pooja Shroff will mix Indian and Indonesian craftsmanship - Pooja Shroff- Facebook

Pooja Shroff’s upcoming collection, titled “Resist Aur Dye”, will feature delicate hand-embroidery on Indonesian Batik textiles. The collection will feature a colour palette of lilac and dusty rose pink alongside the indigo blue Indonesian textiles that inspired the collection.

With embroidery as a focal point, Shroff has already shared snippets of the work that will feature. Opulent gold sequins create a scale-like effect and gold honey combs adorn fabric accompanied by 3D bees. Textured floral embroidery and more simple details will also feature and the whole collection is an ode to traditional Indian craftsmanship, as indeed Shroff is a supporter of the government’s “Make in India” campaign. The collection is also just as much a celebration of traditional Indonesian craft and Shroff has shared images of Indonesian craftspeople creating Batik designs for her collection.

On March 5, the brand showcased its jewellery collection with Shivani Ahluwalia and Associates. The gold and silver jewellery features floral elements similar to those on Shroff’s clothing designs and the collection has launched for the spring wedding season.

Pooja Shroff was founded by Pooja Gupta and the brand is based in New Delhi where it runs its flagship store. LMIFW will run in New Delhi from March 13 at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium.
