Belgian designer Olivier Theyskens recently presented his Spring/Summer 2020 collection on the last day of the Paris Fashion Week. This summer he was a guest of the LuxurynsightXFashionNetwork.com podcast series, talking frankly with Godfrey Deeny.

In the podcast, Theyskens opens up about his experiences, from the huge appetite for travelling he had in his twenties to the evolution of his creative approach. Theyskens studied at La Cambre, Brussels’s renowned fashion academy, founding his own label soon after. He talks about his entrepreneurial experience, then his work as creative director at Rochas, Nina Ricci and Theory, before he relaunched his label three years ago.

He also discusses what it means to run an independent label in the age of social media and emphasises the importance of collective work in the fashion industry.

FashionNetwork.com’s daily newsletters help fashion, luxury and beauty industry professionals understand and analyse their constantly evolving markets. Now in its second season, FashionNetwork.com’s podcast series, in partnership with Luxurynsight, provides further analysis on these themes.
