Skincare and beauty brand Plum has launched a new social media initiative 'Plum Squad' to engage with its customers and boost its video content as the brand embraces social commerce.
“Here's your chance to kickstart your career,” Plum announced on Facebook, launching its ‘Plum Squad’ video initiative to link up with customers and give them the chance to begin their career as beauty or skincare influencers. To join the Plum Squad influencer community, Plum customers can film a video using or showcasing Plum products and add a specially designed sticker to their video. Then, the budding influencers can upload the video to Instagram or YouTube adding appropriate tags.
By partnering with small-scale and up-and-coming influencers, the brand will reach a wider audience and use the fast-growing format of social commerce to gain sales from consumers’ social groups and networks. By focusing on online communities, many Indian beauty brands are using live shopping sessions and shoppable videos to sell goods, a format which has proved popular in China and is beginning to become mainstream in India.
The brand has also increased its focus on sharing informative video content on it social media platforms to build stronger relationships with its customers and boost sales. Most recently, Plum held a live session with wellness coach and sports trainer Mitushi Ajmera on January 28 who shared healthcare and exercise tips.
