The company has hired Sambit Dash, Ramanpreet Sohi, and Ashish Mishra in senior leadership roles to head the marketing, financial, and business development departments, respectively.

In January this year, Mamaearth had raised Rs 130 crore ($18 million) in the third round of institutional funding, led by Sequoia India, to strengthen its leadership team and customer acquisition.

Commenting on the appointments amid the Covid-19 crisis, Varun Alagh, founder of Mamaearth, in a statement said: “This is undoubtedly a time of unprecedented crisis — something the world has never seen before and is unlikely to see again. But it’s times like these that can transform the culture and mindset in a company — for better or worse. It was very clear for us which way we wanted to go. In times of crisis, we can’t act from a place of fear and take actions that go against this value system.”

Founded in 2016 by husband-wife duo, Varun and Ghazal Alagh, Mamaearth sells its products on major e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Nykaa and Flipkart. The brand also has a strong offline footprint, in over 2,000 multi-brand stores across 40 cities in the country.
