Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop’s first ever international store opening in London, UK, on Saturday brought over 50 Indian luxury fashion brands to Mayfair along with a host of celebrity guests.
Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop’s ninth brick-and-mortar store, and first store outside India, opened its doors on Grosvenor Street in Mayfair on November 9. The store retails a wide selection of Indian fashion and will be the only offline stockist in the UK for some of its brands.
The store has a modern grey interior and simple design with a wooden floor, lounge area, and grey plinths to display accessories.
"This has been great,” said Purple Style Labs’ CEO Abhishek Agarwal in a press release. “We have been selling to international clients for a very long time now, so this is the first step to opening international stores in the future.”
The launch event welcomed a number of UK and India-based celebrities including actresses Priya Davdra, Amrit Maghera, and Sara Khan and style influencer Farahana Bodi.
The store will feature a rotating selection of designs by over 50 Indian brands including Rohit Bal, Gulabo by Abu Sandeep, Tarun Tahiliani, Anita Dongre, Anamika Khanna, Gaurav Gupta, Amit Aggarwal, Manish Arora, Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna,Varun Bahl, Shantanu & Nikhil, Ridhi Mehra, Masaba, and Papa Don’t Preach among others. The brand and product selection will be similar to that found in Pernia’s Pop-Up Shops in India with a mix of heritage and new-gen designers.
Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop is owned by Purple Style Labs which fully acquired the business from founder Pernia Qureshi last year. The business started out as an e-commerce store and its other brick-and-mortar stores are located across Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata.
