With summer fast approaching, the British perfume brand is riding the popularity wave of the small format and releasing three of its iconic fragrances as rollerballs that fit perfectly into a small purse and are ideal for traveling.

At a time when the small format is riding high in the world of beauty -- sales of women's fragrances in 21-30ml bottles increased by 1% in 2014 according to The NPD Group-- Penhaligon's is revising its offers and proposing these travel companion rollerballs for three of its perfumes: Vaara, Artsemisia and Orange Blossom.

Besides the practical aspect, the rollerball format also changes the way fragrance is applied: the vaporizer being replaced by a rollerball facilitates the ease of use on the go, and the rollerball adds a touch of coolness to the skin during those hot summer months when an extra application might be called for.

Inspired by the gardens of the Marwar-Jodhpur Palace in Rajastan, Vaara opens with notes of quince, rose water, carrot seeds, coriander and saffron. The middle notes are rose, freesia, magnolia and peony, resting on a base of honey, white musk, cedar, sandalwood, benzoin and tonka bean.

"Artemisia," for its part, mixes notes of nectarine, peach and green apple to jasmine tea, violet, vanilla, amber and musk.

The final scent of this summer line, "Orange Blossom," reveals orange and bergamot at first, with jasmine, rose, orchid, peach blossom and orange following. The base notes are musk, sandalwood, Virginia cedar and vanilla.
