Peeli Kothi launched its latest womenswear collection as a digital showcase broadcast on Instagram for the second digital edition of India Runway Week. The collection focused on the brand’s signature, the handloom saree and, this season, Peeli Kothi looked to Gujarat and its traditional checked weaves for inspiration. Checked textiles in red and white or maroon featured detailed borders and celebrated the luxurious appeal of handloom.

Other sarees were monochrome save for a patterned border and, paired with metallic blouses, made a strong statement. Neutral toned sarees also made an appearance for a more subtle look.

Models wore traditional khol eyeliner, natural lips, and their hair in a traditional middle part. Jewellery including nose pins with chains and large nose rings added a touch of bridal glamour and the collection included many day-to-evening ensembles.

Peeli Kothi retails ethnic wear, traditional wear, and textiles from its flagship store in New Delhi as well as its dedicated e-commerce store. The brand sources its handloom textiles directly from manufacturers across India and featured textile traditions include Chanderi, Kanjeevaram, Patola, Modal, Bhagalpuri, Paithani Silks, and fine linen, among others.
