The Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council will hold the 2020 IITExpo textile trade show from March 5 to 7, at the Bombay Exhibition and Convention Centre in Mumbai, to promote international trade.

This March, the PDEXCIL expects trade visitors from the UK, U.S., Europe, Bangladesh, UAE, and China, according to the event brochure on its website.
The trade show will feature product categories including yarn, textiles, ready-made garments, industrial textiles, cottons, blended textiles, silk, knitted textiles, suiting textiles, sarees, and accessories. The event aims to give Indian powerloom textile producers a platform from which to showcase their products and link up with international distributors.
India’s clothing and textile exports in the 2019 financial year totalled approximately $38 billion (Rs 2.5 lakh crore), according to the PDEXCIL. The organisation aims to increase Indian exports through events such as its IITExpo trade show, located in Maharashtra, India’s main powerloom hub.
The PDEXCIL was set up by the Government of India’s Ministry of Textiles as a non-profit organisation to promote India’s powerloom sector. The organisation works to increase exports of fabrics and made-ups produced by powerloom manufacturers and also works to ameliorate the industry’s trade practices and technology.
