“The 1,000 people is additional manpower in tech and non-tech roles that we need and the hiring process is on for that,” Paytm wrote, in an e-mail response to the Press Trust of India.

As part of its new hiring round, Paytm is looking to hire around 50 senior-level executives in vice president roles and above with the aim of bolstering its senior leadership. Other positions the business is looking to fill include in its financial and wealth management sectors across India in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

The business also shared that it had hired around 700 new employees over the past four months and managed to traverse lockdown, without laying off any employees or cutting salaries.

As well as adding to its workforce, Paytm is also in the process of setting up its largest campus yet in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The office is designed to accommodate 5,000 employees in an area measuring around 5.5 lakh square feet.
