To celebrate India’s increased adoption of digital payments and online shopping over the past six years and the Government of India’s efforts to promote the industry, Paytm will launch a cash-back programme in 200 Indian districts. The business will also hold special promotions for the initiative in Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, the business said in a statement, ET Bureau reported.

“Paytm's Guaranteed Cashback offer will encourage India's millions of merchants to trust digital payments and come on the path of innovation and contribute to the cashless economy,” said Digital India Mission president and CEO, Abhishek Singh, in a statement, the Press Trust of India reported.

For every payment made through Paytm’s mobile app by both merchants and customers, users will receive cash-backs under the promotional offer.

“The company is committing Rs 50 crore for the program this year which will uplift over 2 crore merchants who use Paytm in their day-to-day life,” said Paytm in a statement.

The business will also track which businesses are its top merchants before the festival of Diwali and give them a range of rewards.
