Payal Singhal took her spring/ summer 2020 collection to Paris to take part in Who’s Next alongside fashion brands from around the world. The designer exhibited her Musafir collection in Hall 1 after recently launching it on the runway at Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai.

“The mood board for this collection is replete with throwback styles from the ’70s, grunge staples, Coachella favourites, and cultural cues from the crafts and bazaars of Turkey and Morocco,” wrote Singhal about the collection on her social media.

Musafir features prints layered on prints. Singhal created the “Ikat Love print” which features turquoise and red and features on shirt-dresses, men’s sets, and women’s occasion wear. The designer also celebrated her brand’s 20th birthday with this collection.

The collection also features a number of pieces inspired by the Pride Flag. One of the items, a white vest with hanging rainbow-hued embellishments, was recently modelled by model and trans-rights activist Anjali Lama. The collection also plays with the notion of gender and its menswear offerings feature flamboyant, bright prints.

Who’s Next ran at the Porte de Versailles in Paris, France, from September 6 to 9. The international fashion trade show gives brands a chance to network with buyers from around the world.
