Payal Singhal launches open casting call for upcoming LFW show

Designer Payal Singhal has launched an initiative with supplements brand Corcal Bone and Beauty to find diverse models for her upcoming runway show for Lakmé Fashion Week in Mumbai this February.

The designer has also enlisted Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan to instruct hopefuls on how to apply to walk the ramp at Lakmé Fashion Week in an exclusive video. Entrants must take a picture with a woman that inspires them and submit it before January 31 and a group of women will be selected to participate in Singhal’s upcoming show.
 
The initiative aims to engage a wide range of women with the brand and broaden the definition of who is perceived of as a model. LFW has featured an increasingly diverse range of models on its runways in recent seasons and aims to continue this trend for its summer/ resort edition. 

LFW will take place from February 12 to 16 at JioWorld Garden in Mumbai. The fashion week will also feature a Gen Next showcase for up-and-coming designers and many other luxury brands from across India.
 
Payal Singhal launched her eponymous brand in 1999 and retails occasion wear, bridal wear, and fusion wear for women as well as menswear and children’s wear. The brand is known for its whimsical prints and retails from its dedicated e-commerce store as well as in multi-brand boutiques across India.
