Payal Khandwala collaborates with Ether on luxury chocolate collection, unveils jewellery line
Womenswear designer Payal Khandwala has collaborated with luxury chocolate brand Ether Atelier to create a line of limited-edition chocolate boxes. The brand also recently launched a jewellery line.
Payal Khandwala’s eponymous brand stepped into luxury packaging design and luxury food for the first time this week, with the launch of its collaboration with Ether Atelier titled, ‘The Empress of India’, the brand announced on Facebook.
The limited-edition collection of 48 boxes of chocolate features packaging design modelled on Khandwala’s textiles and was inspired by the modern Indian woman. The collaboration’s minimalist product design reflects Khandwala’s paired-down aesthetic, also seen in Khandwala’s recently launched summer collection.
Luxury food gained popularity among other luxury products during lockdown as events were cancelled and families remained at home. The coronavirus pandemic has led to a number of notable collaborations between fashion designers and gourmet products ,such as Tata Cliq Luxury’s recent ‘Apron Project’, to celebrate the launch of a fine foods segment on its e-commerce store.
The brand also recently launched a jewellery line to accompany its collection of traditional and fusion wear, it announced on Facebook. The jewellery collection features bold and minimal necklaces and earrings with sculptural designs, retailing in-store and online.
Payal Khandwala launched her eponymous brand in 2011 and then launched a dedicated e-commerce store in 2018.
Khandwala is known for her sarees and modern take on traditional Indian textiles. Khandwala’s brand opened a flagship store in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai in November last year, and also has another flagship store in Mumbai, as well as one in Bengaluru.
