Payal Khandwala launches e-commerce store

The designer Payal Khandwala has launched an e-commerce store for her eponymous brand, stocking a selection of her signature pleated designs and sarees.

On September 28, Payal Khandwala launched her online store and first offical e-commerce venture. The designer’s collections were already available online on multi-brand platforms such as Ogaan and Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop.

The e-commerce store launched with a selection of the brand’s current collection of sarees and pleated garments. As of October 2, many of the sarees have already sold out. The site has initially launched with a selection of the designer’s most loved garments and products are in limited quantities which gives the site a highly curated feel.

Khandwala chose to launch with sarees and pleated stoles as they are one-size fits-all and are therefore easier to order online. The store also aims to allow customers who cannot travel to the brand’s flagship store in Colaba, Mumbai, to purchase from the designer with ease. As part of this, the site has international shipping and free domestic standard shipping.

The online store also gives customers access to trained in-house representatives who are available to guide customers through purchasing the right garment for them. Since the launch of Payal Khandwala in 2011, the brand has launched in a number of India’s metros in multi-brand boutiques and, with the launch of the online store, is now easily available worldwide.
