Patanjali will be entering the apparel business sooner than expected and also has massive expansion plans for the Indian market. The firm will open 100 exclusive brand outlets for Paridhan across the country in the coming years.

Patanjali’s Paridhan will retail garment products, including ethnic wear, sportswear, accessories, catering to kids, men and women.

“The company is set to launch its clothing brand ‘Paridhan’ by the end of this year. Apparels would be manufactured in-house via a third party,” Managing Director and co-founder Acharya Balkrishan said in a TV interview.

“A team had been formed in Noida to handle the company's apparel business. Patanjali would open 100 exclusive stores in metros as well as non-metros,” he added.

After success in the FMCG sector, Patanjali is rapidly diversifying its portfolio as it aims to be the country’s biggest firm in terms of revenue in the years to come. The firm recently forayed into the telecom sector and plans to also enter newer countries next year.

Patanjali had a total revenue of around 9,000 crore rupees (approximately 1.3 billion US dollars) for the FY 2017 and is already the leading player in the country’s cosmetic and food market.
