On June 20, Patanjali released a statement and a set of advertisements seeking applications for a number of posts at the company. Most of the positions are for “salesmen” for which remuneration will be between Rs 8,000 andRs 15,000 a month depending upon the position and other factors.

Jobs are available across the business’ verticals including in product categories such as personal care and beauty products. The plan is to hire between 40 and 50 for the business in each district which will amount to approximately 50,000 positions. Applications will close on June 22.

Patanjali’s large scale recruitment drive is another sign of just how fast the business is expanding. New product categories continue to be created such as apparel, telecom, and denim as the brand is becoming one of India’s giants in the FMCG sector.

The recruitment drive will also no doubt aid in Patanjali’s marketing. Ramdev has consistently taken a nationalist stance with his company and advocates for the promotion of traditional Indian foods, garments, sports, religion, and production. By creating more jobs, Ramdev is also furthering its “Swadesi” values.
