Pankaj & Nidhi to make couture debut at India Couture Week on Wednesday

Design duo Pankaj & Nidhi will showcase their first ever couture collection at India Couture Week on Wednesday. The collection is titled “Mosaiq” and will feature jewellery by House of Aynat.

Pankaj & Nidhi will showcase “Mosaiq”, the brand’s first foray into couture, on the runway as part of the ongoing edition of India Couture Week. The showcase is scheduled for day three of the event, which runs from July 22 to 28.

Mosaiq is inspired by the art form of mosaic and will feature garments made from satin, organza, and tulle. The colour palette will include gold, silver, yellow, and blue and 3D hand-cut appliqué techniques will add texture. The brand showcased its autumn/ winter ready-to-wear collection at Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week in March which also drew some of its inspiration from mosaics. 

India Couture Week is organised by the Fashion Design Council of India in partnership with the Hindustan Times. The event’s luxury partner is DLF Emporio and all runway shows take place at the Taj Palace in New Delhi. 

Designers, National Institute of Fashion Technology graduates, and married couple Pankaj and Nidhi Ahuja launched their label in May 2006. The brand won the International Apparel Federation Award in 2011 and the India chapter of the International Woolmark prize in 2012. The brand retails its ready-to-wear collections from its five flagship stores spread across New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru as well as a number of multi-brand stores in India and internationally including in Japan, Russia, the UK, and Saudi Arabia among others.
