Pankaj & Nidhi showcase denim and florals at LFW with R Elan

Pankaj & Nidhi presented a collection titled ‘Artfluence’, in collaboration with sustainable textile brand R Elan, on day four of Lakmé Fashion Week, and mixed soft florals with structured denim.

 
Design duo Pankaj & Nidhi’s summer/resort 2020 collection was made from sustainably engineered fibres and yarns, created in collaboration with R Elan, Lakmé Fashion Week announced on Facebook. Bollywood celebrity Shraddha Kapoor closed the show in a woven bodice made from pastel-hued and black ribbon over a pair of tailored trousers with soft-glamorous makeup and heels, a look which epitomised the innovative, yet wearable collection. 
 
Organza, collaged photographic floral prints, and delicate embellishments were contrasted with geometric prints, tailored denim, and menswear-inspired silhouettes, to create a balance between whimsical femininity and an androgynous, modern aesthetic. Notable garments included a floor-length, pleated denim maxi-skirt, a metallic geometric-print suit, and fish scale iridescent cocktail dresses.

Designers, National Institute of Fashion Technology graduates, and married couple, Pankaj and Nidhi Ahuja, launched their label in May 2006. The brand retails its ready-to-wear collections from its five flagship stores spread across New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, as well as a number of multi-brand stores in India and internationally, including in Japan, Russia, the UK, and Saudi Arabia, among others.
 
Lakmé Fashion Week ran from February 12 to 16 at the JioWorld Garden in Mumbai. The fashion week celebrated its 20th anniversary this edition and held a number of themed  showcases including a sustainable fashion day and jewellery initiative.
