The first weaving city in Pakistan will be set up in Faisalabad’s M3 Industrial Estate.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding this was signed recently between the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) and the All Pakistan Cotton Power Looms Association (APCPA) at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI).

The weaving city will bring the entire cluster of weaving units into a 100-acre zone in the textile-manufacturing city of Faisalabad, according to Pakistani media reports.

FIEDMC will lease out land complete with pre-fabricated buildings, which will free up the finances of the power loom firms to invest in all around modernisation and upgrade of the units.

The weaving city will be developed on a public-private partnership model, said FIEDMC’s CEO Amir Saleemi.
