Page Industries suspends manufacturing operations amid surge in Covid-19 cases

With many states in the country going for a lockdown due to the second wave of Covid-19, the company has decided to stop its operations to protect its employees.

Page Industries said that the shutdown will not impact production volumes as it has enough inventory to cater to the needs of its distributors.

“Considering the seriousness of the current Covid situation in India, especially in Karnataka, the company is temporarily suspending the manufacturing and operations except warehouse, elastics and raw material stores in Karnataka, with effect from April 30, 2021,” the company said in a statement.

“The duration of the temporary suspension will depend upon improvement in the situation and health advisory by the government. Since the manufacturing facilities have been shut down temporarily there will be an impact on production volumes during this period. We have enough inventory levels to carry us into the next couple of months. When the lockdown is lifted, manufacturing and operations will commence immediately with full capacity,” the statement added.

Page Industries is the exclusive licensee of American underwear brand Jockey International and Speedo International for manufacture, distribution, and marketing in India.
