Page Industries Q2 net profit rises 45 percent to Rs 160 crore

Apparel manufacturer Page Industries Ltd reported a 45 percent rise in net profit at Rs 160 crore ($21.6 million) for the second quarter ended September 2021, as against a net profit of Rs 111 crore during the July-September period a year ago.

The company’s revenue for the quarter rose by 46 percent to Rs 1,084 crore, as against Rs 740 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
 
Total expenses for the quarter stood at Rs 875 crore as against Rs 598 crore in the year-ago period.

Commenting on the Q2 results, Sunder Genomal, managing director of Page Industries Ltd, in a statement said: “As we announce our highest-ever revenue and PAT this quarter, we remain confident to deliver on the long-term growth prospects of the company. I am pleased to share that the sales momentum has picked up significantly after the setbacks of the global pandemic.”
 
“The company saw increased momentum in sales across product categories backed by expansion in its portfolio and its existing network. We are well poised and remain optimistic on delivering sustainable growth in the foreseeable future,” Genomal added.
 
Bengaluru-based Page Industries is the exclusive licensee of American underwear brand Jockey International for manufacture, distribution, and marketing in countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, UAE, Oman, and Qatar. It is also the exclusive licensee of Speedo International for India.
