Inditex executive chairman Pablo Isla has nominated Carlos Crespo for the role of CEO of the group. The appointment will be effective in July further to the approval of the board at the annual general meeting.

At the request of Inditex executive chairman Pablo Isla, the group’s Appointments Committee submitted for approval by the board of directors the appointment of Carlos Crespo as group CEO. The strategic decision will become effective in July, once the appointment is approved by the board and the chairman elected by the board.

Crespo joined Inditex in 2001, when he was in charge of accounting within the financial administration department. After having been tasked with the administrative management of stocks in the group's logistics centers, Crespo was put in charge of internal auditing in 2015. In 2018, he was promoted to the position of general director of operations, a role that he will occupy until next July.

The future CEO, aged 48, will report directly to the executive chairman, Pablo Isla. Crespo is to lead technology (systems, data and digital), IT security, logistics and transportation, construction and works, legal, procurement and sustainability. In addition, he will be responsible for defining the company's global strategy with the CEO.
