Opening Ceremony and Aldo Product Services (APS), a division of Aldo Group, have signed a global licensing agreement for footwear that will debut in the Spring/Summer 2016 season, as reported by Business of Fashion.

The fashion brand and retailer will work with APS on production, manufacturing, development and merchandising of the footwear in addition to designing the collection.

Opening Ceremony’s current footwear collection is produced in-house and is carried in over 200 wholesale accounts. Through the partnership, both companies will handle sales and distribution.

éWe feel there is a perfect alignment between Opening Ceremony’s design leadership and APS’s unmatched production capabilities," said vice president of Aldo Product Services, Nicholas F. Martire in a statement. "Opening Ceremony is without a doubt one of the most inspiring brands of our time, and its success is a true testament to Carol, Humberto and the incredible team they have built."

Announcement of the partnership follows Berkshire Partners’ minority stake in the company and Glen T. Senk, the former CEO of Urban Outfitters, stepping in as the company board’s non-executive chairman. The investment is intended to help strengthen the company’s global reach primarily in improving e-commerce, strengthening the label’s own collections as well as its monobrand and multi-brand retail network.
