One97 Communications appoints Madhur Deora as CFO

One97 Communications Limited, the parent firm of Paytm, has appointed Madhur Deora as its new chief financial officer (CFO).

Deora will take charge from January 1, 2022 in place of Vikas Garg, who will be moving to a new role within the Paytm Group.

The appointment has been approved by the Audit Committee of the company. The Board of Directors accepted the resignation of Vikas Garg from the position of chief financial officer of the company w.e.f. the conclusion of the business hours on December 31, 2021.

"In his present role with the company, he is responsible for devising the financial and operational strategy, investor relations, assisting with a commercial roadmap to realize the long term vision of the organization and driving overall governance," Paytm said in a statement.

Madhur Deora has been associated with the company since October 3, 2016. He holds a bachelor's degree of science in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He was previously associated with Citigroup Global Markets India Private Limited.
