Olio, a brand known for its bold and offbeat clothing, made its first foray into jewellery and launched the product category with a party at The Brewhouse in New Delhi on Saturday. The brand explained on social media that it wanted to give the capital’s shoppers a chance to see the pieces in person, as it does not currently have its own offline space.

The brand’s maiden jewellery collection is made from brass and gold and also features gemstones including amethyst, carnelian, and turquoise. Pieces are chunky and have a vintage feel. Designed to be dressed up or down, many pieces are reversible to allow for versatility.

The jewellery collection is “inspired by our grandfather’s coin collection, we created pieces with antique coins that span many eras—from Athena’s coins dating back to 420 BC and Jahangir’s Zodiac coins circa 1569 to modern day paisas,” Olio co-owner Aashna Singh told Vogue India about the new launch.

Olio was founded by Sneha Saksena and Aashna Singh in 2015. The brand also carries a range of western and fusion wear and retails from its dedicated e-commerce store where the jewellery collection has also just launched.
