Obeetee opens new store in Delhi, unveils JJ Valaya collection

Luxury carpet brand Obeetee has opened its largest flagship store to date in New Delhi at Sultanpur on MG Road and chose the occasion to unveil its collaborative line with couturier JJ Valaya.

The new store opened its doors to the public on September 2, Obeetee announced in a press release. The store’s spacious interior features deep hued fixtures, chandeliers, and heritage accents.  

“Obeetee’s new flagship store in Delhi is designed to help our customers embark on this unforgettable journey and truly experience all that Obeetee stands for,” said Obeetee Retail’s CEO Angelique Dhama, Elle India reported. “What makes this launch even more special is the unveiling of our PTBI Collection with JJ Valaya. The exemplary vision and unparalleled craftsmanship behind this collection are revolutionary and we can’t wait to share it with the world.” 

Obeetee collaborated with JJ Valaya as part of its ongoing ‘Proud to be Indian Series’ which transforms fashion designers’ aesthetics into luxury carpets. The line features 14 unique carpet designs. JJ Valaya is so stranger to homeware and was one of the first fashion brands in India to launch a dedicated home décor line with the introduction of Valaya Home in 1996. 
 
Obeetee was founded in 1920 and the brand describes itself as one of the world’s oldest and largest handwoven rug companies. The brand has previously collaborated with a number of names in Indian fashion including Shantanu & Nikhil, Abraham & Thakore, Raghavendra Rathore, and Tarun Tahiliani.
