Oakley names cricketer Rohit Sharma as its brand ambassador in India
Sports eyewear brand Oakley has named Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma as its brand ambassador in India.
With this association, Sharma will sport the brand’s performance eyewear on and off the pitch. Oakley has been endorsed in the past by cricket stars, Virat Kohli, and Yuvraj Singh.
Commenting on Sharma’s appointment as the brand ambassador, Ben Goss, Oakley’s global brand director, in a statement said: “Rohit Sharma is a world-class performer, an inspiration for the younger generation and an icon. Rohit champions passion, progression, and performance – values that represent Oakley, thus making him an ideal fit to represent and lead the brand dialogue.”
Talking about his association with the brand, Sharma added: “I am delighted to be associated with Oakley, a brand I have always admired. As an athlete, I believe it is imperative that we use the correct eyewear with optimum protection and clear vision.”
Operating in India since 2009, Oakley is present in over 2,000 retail stores across multi-brand outlets and large optical chains such as Titan Eye Plus. It is also available on marketplaces such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio, and Tata Cliq.
