Nykaa Pro partners with Kajol R Paswwan for training programme

Beauty giant Nykaa’s content and commerce platform for beauty professionals Nykaa Pro partnered with makeup artist Kajol R Paswwan to hold a training session. The initiative was designed to offer women from low-income groups hands-on training and to grow the ecosystem of beauty professionals in India.

Paswwan led a three-day training programme for 12 women as an extension of Nykaa Pro’s ‘Go With Pro’ brand ethos, the business announced in a press release on March 8. The business’ Go With Pro initiative is designed to empower individuals into creating livelihoods through a career in beauty and grooming.
 
“True to this year’s International Women’s Day theme, #EmbraceEquity- by levelling the playing field with equal education and opportunities for everyone, this program by Nykaa Pro was designed in partnership with Kajol R Paswwan to share her knowledge and experience of the professional beauty industry with beginners,” Nykaa announced in a press release. “The three-day training, focused on scope, career opportunities and challenges of the industry while also equipping the young women with hands-on and personalised training in basics of make-up and hairstyling techniques and prepared them for future opportunities.”

Nykaa Pro partnered with Mumbai based youth-led organisations Project Baala and Junoon in order to identify and reach out to a group of young women who would best benefit from the course. The two non-profits work towards empowering youth from low-income backgrounds to give them employability skills.
 
Nykaa launched Nykaa Pro in 2018 as a membership-led content and commerce platform designed to cater to beauty professionals. Nykaa Pro currently services over 27,800 Indian pin codes through an omni-channel approach.
