Nykaa opens its first store in Guwahati

The multi-brand beauty retailer Nykaa has opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Guwahati, Assam at City Centre Mall. 

Nykaa now has a store in Guwahati as it continues to expand its footprint across India and tap into emerging beauty markets. The brand opened a Nykaa Luxe store, its retail concept that highlights international beauty brands. Nykaa posted on its social media that the store opened with special spaces for the international makeup brands Bobbi Brown, Estée Lauder, Clinique, and Huda Beauty.  

The City Centre Mall in Guwahati opened this summer and houses a number of fashion brands including Ethos watch boutique, Lenskart, Color Plus, Crocs, Superdry, American Eagle, and Mia by Tanishq. The mall will also open Adidas, Reebok, Skechers, Biba, and Cover Story stores soon, according to its social media. 

Nykaa is opening stores in a number of malls as it continues to up its brick-and-mortar store count across India. The brand recently opened at the Orion Mall in Bengaluru and the Forum Courtyard Mall in Kolkata among other mall locations. 

As part of its current expansion plan, Nykaa plans to reach a total of 90 offline stores by 2020. Founded by Falguni Nayar in 2012 as a multi-brand online beauty store, the business is now pursuing an omni-channel expansion strategy and is also growing its fashion arm Nykaa Fashion.
