Nykaa opens first Nykaa Luxe store in Kolkata

The multi-brand beauty business Nykaa opened its first Nykaa Luxe store in Kolkata on May 23 in the city’s Forum Courtyard Mall.

Nykaa launched its first brick-and-mortar store in Kolkata on Thursday and brought a selection of the beauty brands it carries on its e-commerce store to the city. Some of the brands that have been given a dedicated section in the store include Huda Beauty, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, Estée Lauder, Clinique, and Nykaa’s private-label Nykaa Beauty.

The store launched with a large promotion on the store-front featuring brand ambassador and Bollywood celebrity Janhvi Kapoor and Nykaa’s recent private-label launch for its Ultra Matte Lipsticks. The store follows the signature black design of Nykaa Luxe stores with pink and white accents and a brightly lit interior. 

Nykaa was launched by Falguni Nayar in 2012 as a multi-brand online beauty store and the business first forayed into brick-and-mortar retail in 2015 with a store in the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The brand’s current retail expansion plan is to reach a total of 90 offline stores by 2020. The business is also working on expanding its nascent fashion arm, Nykaa Fashion.
