Nykaa launches Becca Cosmetics online and in select stores
On October 1, Nykaa launched Becca Cosmetics in India, the brand announced on its Facebook page. The makeup brand, known for its range of highlighters and skin products, has launched 22 products on Nykaa’s e-commerce store and some have already sold out.
Becca Cosmetics was founded in Perth, Australia and bought by U.S. business Estée Lauder in 2016. Nykaa describes the cruelty-free brand as producing the U.S.’s best-selling highlighter, and launched Becca online with a number of promotional offers.
Nykaa’s founder and CEO, Falguni Nayar, recently told the Economic Times that she expects the business’ beauty segment to grow by 50% across online and brick-and-mortar channels over the festive season. The business has slowly begun to restart its new store opening schedule with a recent launch in Ahmedabad and expects sales in physical stores to achieve pre-pandemic level sales around December.
As part of the business’ positive outlook on recovery, it has launched a number of international beauty brands recently, including Korean skincare brand Cosrx. Nykaa has also greatly increased its range of beauty supplements and health focused products in response to a focus on natural beauty as many shoppers continue to stay home.
