Multi-brand beauty retailer Nykaa has indefinitely postponed its first ever ‘Nykaaland’ beauty festival, due to public health concerns over the coronavirus.

Nykaa aims to reschedule Nykaaland at a later date - Nykaa- Facebook

The event, which was to be Nykaa’s first interactive market and fair, was scheduled to take place from March 21 to 22, at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai. Its headline event was to be a makeup masterclass with Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic. The festival was also set to feature a talk by House of Masaba designer and founder, Masaba Gupta

“Due to the recent health concerns on account of coronavirus, Nykaaland, the Nykaa beauty festival brought by Bookmyshow has been postponed indefinitely including the makeup master class by Mario Dedivanovic,” Nykaa announced on Facebook.

“We are actively working on rescheduled dates and will share more information at the earliest through our official channels.”

Nykaa, which runs multi-brand ‘On Trend’ and ‘Luxe’ makeup stores across India, is continuing to launch new products across stores and on its e-commerce site.

However, as many Nykaa brick-and-mortar stores are located in malls, some may face restrictions placed by state governments in the continued battle against the spread of coronavirus.
