Nykaa Fashion launches accessories brand Mondano

Multi-brand online fashion retailer Nykaa launched a new accessories brand named Mondano on November 4 as the business expands its private label offerings.

Mondano’s maiden collection includes a range of accessories and jewellery including sunglasses, rings, necklaces, earrings, charm bracelets, and handbags. The line has a youthful, modern aesthetic and features pieces that are designed to fit with both western and traditional wear. 

Nykaa Fashion also recently launched a private label clothing brand named Rsvp. The brand is designed as a range of affordable party wear and was created by Nykaa Fashion’s CEO, Adwaita Nayar who said that she created the brand after finding a dearth of affordable occasion wear in a Facebook post in October.

Nykaa Fashion’s recent private label launches hint at a similar business strategy to the business model of Nykaa’s beauty business. Nykaa launched its private label cosmetics brand which is priced more affordably than the international beauty brands it carries and has expanded the brand to include various lines dedicated to natural beauty. Mondano and Rsvp are also priced in the more affordable range available on Nykaa Fashion. 

Falguni Nayar launched Nykaa as an online beauty retailer in 2012 and went on to launch the fashion centred platform Nykaa Fashion in 2018. Nayar’s daughter Adwaita Nayar now runs the business’ fashion segment.
