Nykaa eyes Rs 1, 100 crore revenue for 2018-19

Indian beauty retailer Nykaa is expecting its revenue to double to Rs 1,100 crore ($152.6 million) by the end of the current financial year and will be adding over 200 stores across India over the next five years.

For the 2017/ 2018 financial year, Nykaa had posted sales revenue of Rs 570 crore ($85.7 million), up from Rs 214 crore ($32.2 million) it had posted in 2016-17.
 
Nykaa had recently raised Rs 113 crore ($15.9 million) from Lighthouse Advisors and will be investing it expand its retail presence across the country. The beauty retailer also plans to add 20 new brands to its existing portfolio this year.

"We are looking at 180-200 Nykaa outlets across the country in the next 4-5 years. We have a want and dominant footprint to be relevant in the beauty and makeup space. We have set a target of growing by 100 percent our revenue to about Rs 1,100 crore in the current financial year," Falguni Nayar, the founder & CEO of Nykaa told PTI.
 
"We may look at raising funds to support our expansion plan. But it will not be a lot. The company is looking at bringing in about 20 brands this year,” she added.
 
Nykaa currently has 22 brick and mortar outlets across India and aims to add more 38 stores by March 2019.
 
Nykaa was launched online by Falguni Nayar in 2012. The business now sells over 850 brands and 100,000 products and has launched a number of international brands in India.
