Nykaa expands product portfolio, launches ‘Soap Story’

Nykaa, India’s largest multi-brand beauty platform has expanded its product portfolio by foraying into wellness and care segment with the launch of its bathing bars brand Soap Story.

To tap the growing consumer base for natural products Nykaa will house Soap Story selection of hand-crafted bathing bars online and at its physical stores across India.
 
Nykaa will offer Soap Story in eight variants Rose and Almond ,Tea Tree and Aloe, Brown Sugar and Almond Oil, Charcoal and Green Tea, Argan Oil and Mango Butter, Coffee and Cocoa Butter- Sandalwood and Blackened Vanilla, and Lavender and Chamomile.

Commenting on the launch of ‘Soap Story’, Reena Chabbra, CEO Nykaa in a statement said, “Consumers today want to feel more connected to nature, and are looking for sustainable beauty and wellness solutions that are connected to the bounty of the earth. There is a shift towards going back to nature, as well as a renewed interest in our environment. Hence the world over, there is a global demand for natural or organic products.
 
“We earlier launched the Nykaa Naturals range with a selection of Essential Oils, and we now have added to the same with ‘Soap Story’, which brings greater quality to the table,” she added.
 
Nykaa.com reported a net revenue of Rs 214 crore (approx $33 million) and gross merchandise value (GMV) of Rs 275 crore (approx $42.4 million) for the financial year 2016-17.
 
Nykaa currently has 6 Nykaa Luxe stores and 5 Nykaa On Trend stores in India along with an online portal offering 700 brands and 80,000 products. It is rapidly expanding its private label offerings for higher margins.
