Nykaa’s new B2B vertical will be key for its future growth, the business’ founder and CEO Falguni Nayar told ET Bureau in an interview. By expanding Super Store’s services to include distribution for third-party brands, the business sees a large opportunity for increased revenue.

“We launched our B2B business called Super Store, and it is gaining a lot of traction among retailers,” Nayar told ET Bureau. “Though it is currently a very small part of our business, we expect it to grow significantly faster as the market is very large. Through our e-B2B business we are trying to serve general and modern trade channels. It is not just for our own brands but also for third party brands. While we have always been distributors for our own private labels, now we are doing it for third-party brands.”

This week, Nykaa’s parent company FSN E-Commerce Ventures reported its financials for the December quarter, showing a 59% year-on-year drop in net profit, despite a 36% year-on-year rise in revenue.

The business cited increased marketing spends as the main reason for diminished profit and stated that its fashion business is growing swiftly, now accounting for 25% of its consolidated gross merchandise value. The business also plans to continue its brick-and-mortar expansion this quarter.
