Nycil, the Zydus Wellness-owned talc brand, has joined the bandwagon of sanitiser producers amid the coronavirus pandemic, with the launch of its sanitisers under the Nycil brand.

With the launch of sanitisers, Ahmedabad-based Zydus Wellness has expanded its product portfolio for Nycil since its acquisition from Heinz India in 2018.
The company has already rolled out its product in North India, which is expected to hit the shelves in a week.
Nycil will produce two million bottles of two variants, in SKUs of 50ml at Rs 25 (as specified by the Government) at its facilities in the North and East of India.
“This foray marks the first-ever extension for the over 50-year old talcum powder brand. We got working on the design, packaging, etc and decided to roll out this product in a record time of 12 days, as a response to the current pandemic,” Tarun Arora, CEO of Zydus Wellness, told ET Brand Equity.
“The product has already reached distributors in North India and should be available to consumers within a week. It will be made available through e-commerce, chemists and modern trade,” he added.
The sanitiser market has witnessed a significant growth due to the covid-19 pandemic with perfume makers, FMCG firms and alcohol makers all turning to this segment to meet the growing demand in the country.
