The upcoming edition of Northeast International Fashion Week will feature clothing, jewellery, and accessories designers with a focus on brands based in India’s Northeast region. The event is organised by fashion designer and choreographer Prasantt Ghosh and sponsored by Ajitaaksh Ventures.

The event will hold its final model auditions for “male, female, kids, and married ladies,” on November 10 in Khanapara, Guwahati, the event posted on Facebook. The event also aims to give local models a chance to kick-start their careers and has already completed auditions in Diphu for Nagaland, Lumding, and the surrounding areas as well as in Shillong, Jorhat, and Sibsagar among other locations.

Last season, designer Doll M Tamang presented a women’s ready-to-wear collection on the runway that mixed traditional wear elements with western wear silhouettes. Other participating designers included students from the Acme Institute, Moonmee Baruah, Amarendra Doley, Debajlt Das, Sai Jansai, Jashna Gurung, and Beauty and Sangina among others.

Along with organising Northeast International Fashion Week, Prasantt Ghosh runs a range of fashion events based around the Guwahati area including fashion design courses and jewellery exhibitions.
