Apr 6, 2020
Skincare major Nivea India has announced that it has started producing hand sanitisers at the company’s manufacturing facility at Sanand near Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

The company will be distributing the sanitisers to public hospitals free-of-cost to help them fight the Covid-19 outbreak in the country.
Separately, bottles of hand sanitiser will also be distributed for free pan India across the company’s supply chain network to those in need of the product.
Nivea has collaborated with its associates Gujarat Print Pack Limited and Hyderabad based partner Aptar Beauty and Home India Pvt Ltd to make these sanitisers.
“We would like to thank the Food and Drug Authority (FDA) & the State Prohibition Department, Ahmedabad who gave us super quick clearances and the necessary product licenses to begin production,” said Neil George, managing director of Nivea India, in a statement.
“We have been in constant touch with the local authorities and our key partners, having worked very hard over the past few weeks to make the switch at our plant and formulate the liquid hand sanitisers. In these difficult circumstances, it is crucial for all industries to come together, step up and support the fight against Covid-19,” he added.
The other products manufactured by Nivea at its Sanand unit include products such as creams, lotions, shower products, newly launched face wash, and lip care products.
