Nivea expands Sanand unit to boost production capacity

Personal care player Nivea India Pvt Ltd, an affiliate of German Beiersdorf AG has expanded its Sanand unit in Gujarat to increase its production capacity in the country.
 

The phase two of the manufacturing facility is now functional and the company is expecting strong growth going forward due to the increase in production capacity. Sanand capacity now stands at about 240 million units per annum.
 
Nivea has invested around Rs 350 crore ($50.4 million) so far in the manufacturing unit and expected to invest another Rs 500 crore in the coming years.

“Our consumer-centric innovation backed by our R&D expertise and local insights has been a key to our growth. We believe that this new production centre will take us closer to achieving our goal of being emerging India’s most loved skincare brand,” Neil George, managing director at Nivea India told Businessline.
 
The products manufactured by Nivea at its Sanand unit include products such as creams, lotions, shower products, newly launched face wash, and lip care products.
