Nidhi Munim shows "Aphrodite" collection at IBFW

On October 26, Nidhi Munim showed a resort and swimwear collection entitled “Aphrodite” at India Beach Fashion Week (IBFW).

On IBFW season five’s first day, Nidhi Munim showed an Ancient Greek inspired collection that featured garments ranging from swimwear to evening dresses. The colour palette was mostly white which was mixed with neutral tones and the odd dash of black. Bikinis and swimsuits were dressed up with floaty beach cover-ups, stacked necklaces, and hairbands. The Greek influence was consistent throughout the collection as models wore lace up sandals and sported simple belts. Wrapping and draped elements on swimwear also brought to mind Hellenic aesthetics.

The runway show was sponsored by Volkswagen and took place in the Marriott Sea Face in tandem with the Ajay Kumar show. Day one of IBFW concluded with an after party by Bombay Adda at the Cohiba Experience Zone of the Marriott as guests spoke about the day’s shows and prepared themselves for IBFW’s day two which will feature brands such as Future Fashion Conclave and Bani Khurana.

Nidhi Munim’s eponymous label specialises in resort and swimwear and describes itself as “Made in India”. The brand is based in Mumbai and retails across India as well as from its own e-commerce store.
