Clothing and lifestyle brand Nicobar has collaborated with visual artist Sameer Kulavoor on a capsule clothing collection entitled ‘Musafir’, and will hold a preview event for the collection on February 21 at its Kala Ghoda store in Mumbai.

All that has been revealed so far from Nicobar’s upcoming collaborative collection with Sameer Kulavoor - Nicobar- Facebook

Nicobar’s upcoming Musafir collection, which means ‘traveller’ in Hindi, will feature signature garments and products by Nicobar adorned with Kulavoor’s minimal line drawings. The artist’s paired-back figures walk amongst foliage to paint scenes of travellers exploring a tropical landscape. Nicobar has taken drawings straight from Kulavoor’s notebook and rendered them on its androgynous, minimalist clothing.

The collection will be unveiled at ‘A Peek at Musafir’ this Friday evening, the brand announced on Facebook. The event will feature a talk by Kulavoor and Nicobar’s co-founder, Raul Rai, about the collection’s design process. The line will then officially launch in-store on February 29.

Nicobar also recently launched its spring/summer collection ‘Kanga’, inspired by traditional textiles from the African Great Lakes region. Bright prints, loose garments for men and women, and mixed patterns create a joyful and bold aesthetic.

Nicobar retails its lifestyle and fashion goods from its dedicated e-commerce store and flagship stores in India. The brand aims to update traditional Indian crafts for a modern, international audience.
