“As part of this partnership, Nexus malls will be installed with 24*7 charging infrastructure for two and four wheeler EVs,” the business announced in a press release on June 22. “In the first phase, these charging stations will be available at Nexus malls in Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Ahmedabad from June, 2022.”

The move is part of Jio-bp’s plan to encourage EV adoption amongst the Indian population and to encourage sustainable behaviours. The launch of the charging points will also encourage footfall at the mall by offering a service to shoppers.

Nexus Malls has reported, “100% business recovery,” from the pandemic and termed its malls’ performances as, “fastest business recoveries in the industry”. The business credits its pandemic response, which includes hygiene measures, as the reason for its recovery.

Nexus Malls are owned by global investment firm The Blackstone Group and the chain is one of the largest-scale mall chains in India. Cities where Nexus operates malls include Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Amritsar, and Chandigarh among others.
