New drama series about Gio-Goi label to premiere in UK

British fashion brand Gio-Goi, which was started in Manchester in the 1980's, will be immortalised in a new TV-series that will start filming later this year, reported Mancunian Matters.

The series will be written by cult author Irvine Welsh, best known for "Trainspotting," and will be called "Too much Rock n' Roll." It will describe the rise and fall of the Gio-Goi label, which was started by siblings Anthony and Christopher Donnelly.

Welsh and screenwriter and producer Dean Cavanagh, who is working with Keo films on the venture, told Mancunian Matters:  "We’re really excited to be involved in telling the story of The Donnelly Brothers for the screen. Like them we’re a duo that have a similar dynamic.

“We’ve been offered many true life stories over the years but what attracts us to this story in particular is the fact that Anthony and Christopher are unbeatable, they won’t take no for answer, and we’re going to capture that spirit."
