“The insights and understanding that I received while working in the industry, made me conscious of the adverse impact of the industry on the environment,” Ghunawat told Elle India. “It made me realise that an alternate greener option for a product that everyone invests in, are the need of the hour. The environmental consciousness and creative streak in me is what helped me in carving the path towards creating a brand that offers an alternative greener option in jewellery.”

Tangerine’s new Spice Collection features statement chain necklaces, charm bangles, and tactile hoop earrings with gold plated star anise, seeds, and other spices, the brand announced on Facebook. Ghunawat was inspired by the medicinal properties attributed to spices as the fact that they can be found in most Indian kitchens. “Creating a bio jewellery brand is a gentle first step towards our larger vision: delivering an eco-friendly alternative of jewellery,” said Ghunawat.

The brand recently participated in the Shuffling Suitcases sustainable pop-up event in Hyderabad to showcase its new jewellery line, Tangerine announced on Facebook. The event featured sustainable fashion and lifestyle brands from across India including Tan & Loom, Chaand, and Kessho Collection among others, the multi-brand pop-up and retailer announced on Instagram
